The Biography of the owner of Cleveland's Wedding Video Experts

J&J Video Productions

Joie F. Collins was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1954 at the former St. Anne's Hospital. Shortly after birth, Joe was placed in the care of the Sisters of Charity. At 3years old, he was placed up for adoption. He was adopted to Mr.& Mrs John Sabol. There is very little to no information available about  his biological parents. He was raised in Parma, Ohio and went to St. Charles Catholic School.

As he got older, Joe took a serious interest in music. After St. Charles, he went to Padua Franciscan High School where he played drums in the nationally acclaimed Padua Franciscan High School Symphonic Band. To this day Joe has a keen ear for music. He retired from playing the drums in the year 2000 after winning 2 World Championships in ensemble competitive drumming.

After graduating high school, Joe attended Penn State University and earned 2 Business Degrees. He had moved from Parma, Ohio to Eastern Pennsylvania.

In 1982, Joe was looking for a way to supplement his income. A meeting with his parents resulted in the formation of J&J Video Productions. It was at his mother's urging to get into this business because she had read in a consumer magazine that this "new" home video trend was going to be a multi billion dollar industry. His mother noted that  Joe had a natural talent for photography. A picture he took was published in 1970, in the former Parma Post, now known as the Parma Sun Times.  He was only 15 at the time,  an indication of a natural propensity for photographic genius.   Since then this picture has been published multiple times in various publications.

Within 2 weeks, of starting the business, Joe had shot his first wedding video. Amazingly, the wedding video turned out absolutely perfect and it wasn't long before Joe had to expand the business due to the high demand for his wedding videos.

In 1988, after expanding the  wedding video business, he decided to open a wedding photography studio to compliment the video business. Shortly after that, he also added a sound division which specialized in sound production services and disc jockeys for weddings.

In 1995, Joe's mom passed away and Joe moved his business to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He closed the sound division but kept the  wedding video and photography business going strong. In the year 2007, it was decided that both businesses would be relocated to Parma, Ohio in the late Spring or Early Summer of 2010.  In 2009 J&J Video purchased Sunset Canyon Photography to add depth to the Photography Division.  Sunset Canyon Photography will retain its identity.

Recently, Joe has received International  recognition for the 3 Mile Island Steam Generator transport project where J&J Video Productions was the sole commissioned video production company to shoot and document this historical transport. In 2010 J&J Video Productions-Cleveland Ohio took 4th Place in the Fox TV CH 8 contest for Best Video Production Company in Cleveland Ohio. In 2011 J&J Video took top honors by winning the Fox TV Contest by a landslide. J&J Video Production has been nominated again for this years contest.
